What our guests say

There are not enough superlatives to describe how perfect Clunie Lodge is! From the moment you arrive at the gated entrance, slowly drive down the tree lined road and approach the lodge you’ll instantly relax and know this is a very special place.

We stayed at Clunie Lodge with our two daughters (3 and 9) and the single level living is perfect, no worrying about stairs and having to block off areas of the Lodge. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need, the lounge has a TV but to be honest we very rarely watched it, the beds are very comfortable meaning a good night’s sleep after your days adventures enjoying the fresh highland air.

The lochside location is idyllic and one of the most tranquil places we have ever stayed…the only noise you’ll encounter is the birds singing and that which you generate yourselves. The various areas around the grounds give ample opportunity to explore and enjoy the stunning views. You’re spoiled with facilities including a hot tub, sauna and fire pit. Our girls gave fishing a try and whilst they didn’t catch anything it’s an experience they’ll never forget – core memory unlocked. We also took our dog as pets are allowed in the Lodge however there was the added bonus of dog kennels meaning she had space whilst being secure.

Clunie Lodge is located in a beautiful area of Perthshire and you can easily access the A9 giving you a multitude of options for days out and activities. Our picks would be

  • House of Bruar and The Falls of Bruar
  • Aberfeldy where you can go white water rafting or just relax in the Watermill Bookshop and Cafe
  • Dunkeld, a pretty village with lovely independent shops
  • My husband did a bungee jump with the nearby Killiecrankie Highland Fling, an unforgettable experience!
  • If walking is your thing you’re spoilt for choice with numerous munros within an hours drive including Schiehallion which my husband, eldest daughter and dog walked.

It’s close to the market town of Pitlochry meaning if you need any provisions or want to dine out you don’t have to travel far.

We would highly recommend Clunie Lodge and will definitely be booking again!

“Clunie Lodge has so much to offer that it is difficult to mention everything which makes it so unique and special. It is situated in a most tranquil place on the banks of Loch Tummel and spoils its visitors with fantastic views of Ben Vrackie to the West and Schiehallion to the East, inviting intrepid guests to explore the natural beauty of the Scottish hills, including Munros.

Loch Tummel itself is a real gem, where you can experience water sports. You can also enjoy a loch-side barbeque, outdoor hot tub and a Finnish sauna. The place would suit everyone, including those who seek a quiet retreat, an active holiday or a time away with family. Nearby towns of Pitlochry, Dunkeld and Aberfeldy are full of interest and only within a short drive from the Lodge.

The lodge itself is beautiful and contemporary, with a preserved character of a traditional Scottish home. Its stylish decor would appeal to even most demanding aesthetes. Comfortable beds, cosy sofas, a log burning stove, well-equipped kitchen, etc. make it truly “home from home”. The house is lovingly looked after and presented immaculately. Having experienced it once, you will long to come back again and again”.

We’ve stayed at the cottage three times, as a family of 4 and as a group of three friends. What a great location, lots of well tended outdoor space, great for kids running around, it even has an area for a badminton net or other games, its lit at night too so our family Olympics did go on some time!. Lots for adults too with a top end outdoor sauna and nordic style hot tub; views up the loch onto the mountains are incredible. A great base for walking, exploring locally or even just hanging out. With private access to the Loch, we took full advantage and went paddle boarding and kayaking too. We’d definitely recommend it

Simply stunning location!
